Turquoise is one of the oldest gemstones in human history. Its use dates back to 3000 BC. Ancient Egyptians believed Turquoise brings good fortune and makes them invulnerable. 

For centuries turquoise has been used as a good-luck-charm or a talisman for protection.

Persia was one of the first turquoise-producing regions and turquoise stones from this region is known for its pure blue colour. Because of its beautiful colour it was often used to cover the domes of palaces and places of worship.

Turquoise comes in many different colours that may range from white to a powder blue to a sky blue and from a blue-green to a yellowish green.
